Parati is not close to Rio but is a worthwhile trip (about 4 hours) because it has both, beautiful beaches and a lovely historic city! It is surrounded by colonial houses from the 17^th and 18^th centuries, when the gold circulated in abundance from the mines to Rio de Janeiro through the port of Paraty village. Nowadays, without losing its roots, the village has many cozy and comfortable inns and good gastronomic options.
