Last Sunday I went to the Municipal Theater to see its ultimate remodeling and watch the Grupo Corpo, an amazing Brazilian contemporary dance company that was founded in Belo Horizonte in 1975, as a family enterprise. The dancers combine the sensuality of Afro-Brazilian dance forms, the swing of jazz, and the technical prowess of classical ballet, with energy and creativity. The heart and soul of the company is the Pederneiras Family, whose members work together as Choreographer, Artistic Director, Technical Director and Dancer, collaborating to produce stunning and dynamic spectacles. With technical power and inexhaustible stamina, Grupo Corpo is a terrific vehicle for the growing and spreading of the importance of the Brazilian dancing in the world scenario. This year the company is celebrating its successful 35th anniversary with the spectacles Ímã and Lecuona, the last one a homage paid to the Cuban musician Ernesto Lecuona (1895-1963). No domingo passado eu fui ao Teatro Municipal para ver como ele ficou após a última reforma e assistir ao magnífico balé da companhia brasileira de dança Grupo Corpo, fundada em Belo Horizonte em 1975, como uma empresa familiar. Os dançarinos combinam com energia e criatividade, a sensualidade das danças afro-brasileiras, o suingue do jazz e a destreza do balé clássico. O coração e a alma da companhia são os membros da Família Pederneiras, que juntos atuam como coreógrafo, diretor artístico, diretor técnico e dançarina, produzindo maravilhosos e dinâmicos espetáculos. Com o seu poder técnico e inesgotável resistência, o Grupo Corpo tem sido um importante veículo para a divulgação da importância da dança brasileira no cenário mundial. Este ano a companhia está celebrando o seu 35º aniversário com mais dois espetáculos de sucesso - Ímã e Lecuona - sendo este último uma homenagem ao músico cubano Ernesto Lecuona (1895-19630). Hi Robert! I like both of them, but unfortunately I'm not a dancer! When I was a child I would like to be a great classical ballet dancer...anyway, at least I can watch these kinds of spectacles!
Normally I don't like music on web sites, but in your case it works. I love the sunny look of your site. And that theatre is unbelievably opulent. A must see for Rio visitors.

About music on web sites, I used to think about it like you, but I’ve changed my point of view, because I could know many new and amazing bands and singers through other blogs, what was rewarding to me! I like the sunny and colorful look of my site as well, that’s one of the most agreeable aspects of my city (and country!). Another interesting aspect is the mix of different things that you can do here, we don’t have only beautiful beaches to go and we have also a very vibrant cultural life!
