The American Office Diller Scofidio was the winner, in a recent contest, and will build the new Museum of Image & Sound of Rio de Janeiro (MIS), in front of the famous Copacabana Beach. The museum will guard and preserve one of the biggest data collections of Brazilian Culture. The project is evaluated in 65 million of reais: 50 million from the government and 15 million from private partnerships. The construction may start this year and may be ready within 2 years and a half. According to the American architects Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio the inspiration for conceiving the project came from the curves of the famous sidewalk of Copacabana Beach. The place, with 6,000m², will have exhibition and research rooms, auditorium, cafeteria, panoramic restaurant and a piano bar. Inside, ramps and hollow walls will permit visitors to see not only the collections, but also the beautiful landscape outside!

Awesome designs!
Thanks for sharing,
rona :-)
Museum of Image & Sound is like colours&sounds ;)
It seems like the economic crisis will not come in Brasil this year.
Anyway, design is impressive.
Hi Rona! Thanks for visiting my blog!
Yes, I agree with you!
You know, I hated the Solar City Tower (the one that is in the next posting), but I loved all the projects for this museum! I really don't know which one is the best, all of them are creative, modern and, above all, suitable for the landscape and the surroundings! Have a nice weekend, dear friend!
Hi Robert! I liked a lot the "colours&sounds" nickname!
About the crisis, I hope so!!!
See Robert, I'm not against modernity, I do like all the projects because they are integrated with the landscape!
Have a nice weekend!
Enchanting!! A museum overlooking Copacabana beach! What an exhilarating idea! Beauty inside, and beauty outside! I love the designs.
Hi Marty,

The winning design is awesome and specially in front of the famous opacabana Beach.I am sure there will be more amazing architectural designs, since Brazil is hosting the 2014 world cup.
Hi Riyan! Thanks!
Yes, I think many new projects will come, as we are hosting the 2016 Olympic Games as well!
