The hybrids have come to stay! Os híbridos vieram para ficar!

Be prepared, the hybrid buses will replace the noisy and polluter ones that nowadays circulate in the chaotic traffic of Rio!!! The design is clean, they look like sliding, no noise neither polluted gas, autonomy of 300 kilometers and special access for handicapped people. Is it a dream? No! The first ones in the South Hemisphere, the hybrid buses moved by hydrogen and electricity may start transporting passengers in the second semester of this year. “Is the vehicle of the future”, says the professor Paulo Emílio Miranda, coordinator of the Laboratory of Hydrogen. “It does not pollute, as the common buses do besides throwing 100 tons of carbonic gas per year into the atmosphere!” Although this project represents gains for the environment, the model created by COPPE/Rio de Janeiro is still expensive: US$ 700.000, 00 while the ones in use nowadays cost US$ 100.000, 00 each. But certainly this is a price that can be reduced when the vehicles start being produced in industrial scale. What is more, living in a city less polluted is priceless!!!

Sonho?

There are many new hybrid models!

The famous English double deck in a hybrid version!!!

Another good and healthy choice: the electric buses! Aren't they fashion?

This is a model from Philippines made of bamboo and moved by coconut biodiesel!! Lovely!
